Moldovan, US troops exchange experience in JCET-2016

About 90 Moldovan and US servicemen participate 1 through 31 March in the Joint Combined Exchange Training – 2016 (JCET) which is held at the National Army’s military training center in Balti, a city in NW Moldova.

The drills aim at facilitating an exchange of experience and enhancing the inter-operability level between the Moldovan and US armies, according to a statement of the Moldovan Ministry of Defense.

During the field exercises, the attendees carry out shooting drills and group level tactical missions, reconnaissance, urban warfare simulation as well as field training drills.

The previous similar exercise – JCET 2015 involved sservicemen from the 20th Special Forces Group of the North Carolina National Guard, USA and from National Army Special Forces Battalion “Fulger”  within June 1-26 2015. The training was held at the same training center of “Moldova” Brigade from Balti.

According to LTC Tudor Martea, Commander of Special Forces Battalion “Fulger”, the exercises included 4 modules of training: advanced firing techniques, close quarters combat, artillery fire call, and a field training exercise.

LTC Martea mentioned that within the exercise, over 80 service members were trained by their American colleagues to carry out different missions. Also, they carried out shooting drills with heavy and light infantry weapons of National and US Armies.

The main goal of the “JCET — 2015” exercise was the joint training and the exchange of experience between Moldovan and American special forces.
